Understanding learning and building a simpler framework for it
There are deep systemic flaws in the way we go about education, school leader Kevin Bartlett says. At Common Ground Collaborative (CGC) he uses a less complex systemic approach to learning. It is based on communicating with parents in simpler language, building a common destination with them, building an intentional relationship - all of these without crushing the teachers' creativity.
And that, Bartlett says, is the recipe to bringing schools closer to what kids need today, or to what learning should look like.
